Soooooo, the lack of backpressure is causing the ECM to not detect boost. Yeeeeeaaaaahhh.....BS!

Did they put it in writing?

This is what he put on the sheet, word for word!!!!:

"Customer states check engine light P2262. check and Advise."
"Found intake and exhaust modified causing P2262 code. Without proper exhaust backpressure, system won't function properly.
Need to return to stock and drive the heck out of it."

Lets see if Dave chimes in on this one. That is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. The friggin MAP sensor is right at the intake horn. AFTER the turbo (i.e. intake) and BEFORE the cylinders. The MAP sensor DOES NOT see backpressure.

but if backpressure isn't high enough then the turbo may not spool. have you had any performance concerns, lack of power, etc?

Backpressure slows the turbo and makes it harder to spool. Back pressure in ANY turbocharged engine is BAD. It the backpressure was on the compressor side, you bark the turbo when you let off the throttle. Backpressure on the exhaust side and it makes the turbo spool slower and seem less responsive.

Turbo spools up as usual. No abnormal performance yet. Even gunned her a couple times to check
Hopefully Parts and service and shed some light!!!!

But, if it is not sensing the pressure, it doesnt know how much fuel to supply. Without the boost reading, you are going to be WAY underpowered. Did you at least get the code cleared? Maybe it was a soft code (i.e. happened for a moment only).

Code was cleared. I dun even think they looked for the problem!!!!! I think they just used it as an excuse!!!! I get my gauges installed this thursday. I guess we'll see how the turbo is working after that.
