Default 2004 CTD Ram 3500 - DIED....NEED HELP!!!

Well, travelling home from work to pack up for Camping this Labour Day long weekend.....

My 2004 CTD Ram 3500 died on me like no fuel was getting to the motor. RPM dropped to nothing, but all the power was still on the truck (lights, radio, etc.). I went to crank it again and after about 2 or 3 secs....it would fire right up again but ONLY run for about 3 to 5 secs and then die again. I would try this several times but after only a few secs of running it would shut right down. I have a 170,000km on the truck....so my thinking it's either a:

1) Fuel Pump that has died - what is the normal life of a fuel pump????

2) Lift Pump that has died - However, I had this changed at 45,000km.....will it have died this soon again???

Any other ideas would be grateful.

Thanks,

The lift pump (supply pump) died on you, My 04 did the same thing a few years ago. Take the fuel filter cap off and if there is no fuel this is the problem. I was lucky cause the 100k warranty covered the repairs, Good Luck
