Installing pyrometer

Installing pyrometer
I have an 08 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins. I want to install a pyrometer ahead of the turbo. There is a threaded connection on the exhaust minifold that has a tube running to a sensor. Does anyone know if I can install a tee into the manifold to mount the thermocouple for the pyrometer and that tube running to a sensor at his point? I am hesitant to have to remove the manifold to drill and tap it (1/8 NPT). Thank you for your input!

A broken drill bit will damage it, or a broken tap. Drilling the last bit out with the engine running will blow the shavings out with the exhaust. This concern is common and frequently discussed, but problems are rare and always involve chunked bits or taps. Do a search on any of the Dodge diesel forum sites. There are MANY related posts.

Check out my post with pics showing my pyro/boost install with the overhead console. Just more options for you to look at. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-ram-diesel-tech/172190-06-boost-question.html
