Default 2500 vs 3500

Hi all,
I am looking at getting a Cummins in the next 6 months or so. I am torn between the 2500 and the 3500.
I see alot of discussion about the 2500, but very little about the 3500. Is there a reason for that? Are the mods available for both?
I really want a big truck and like the drw, but I also want to build it up for some degree of performance, is it that much harder for the 3500?

Thanks for any information or insight,
Jerry

The only difference is the rear suspension. They both have the same configurations and the same drivetrain. 3500 has one extra leaf in the back springs which rates it at a higher tow capacity legally.

I thought the 2500 was a 3/4 ton and the 3500 was a 1 ton? Aint that based on frame and not an added leaf spring?

Personally, I have to recommend the 3500, but that's a biased opinion...

yew it's designation is a one ton, but it's just that, a designation, just like diablo said only difference is suspension, and I think 3500 come standerd with 4:10 rear, I think..

My 3500 has 3.73 rear ratio. The only difference is the overload leaf packs and the higher insurance.
