does anyone make u joints better then stock for our trucks???
2006 2500 6 speed long bed....
I had one let go this weekend dealer wants 90 bucks for one...
id like to replace it with something better????

 

Rock Auto dot com has "precision" brand joints for our trucks. I think the P/N is 351A for the rear drive shaft (3 each). Precision is made by Federal Mogul in the USA and have grease fitting with them.

Out of curiosity which joint failed and did you have vibrations prior to failing?

 

it was the middle one on the rear shaft.
for quite a while i had a vibration 1st and 2nd under power. which i thought was just due to my mud terrians getting old. so i balenced and so on seemd to get better. but then it got worse and worse and this morning i took it out and it was in all gears mostly when i gave it a little throttle. so at work i slid under because i have also had the notion that my dmf and clutch were on there way out but i happened to check the u joints and the center one was VERY VERY bad.

 

Strange makes a #1410, avalible from Jegs. Spycer has a #1410 also. They both look to be the exact same. Prices are about $36 per U-joint.

Spicer makes some good ones. so does spyder.
