Question Front End Wobble

I guess i will start with what i am driving. It's a '03 quad cab with a 2" leveling kit running on 315/70/17 BFG All Terrians.I have seen threads on here before about "Death Wobble", and now i am looking for help. I have had this problem for awhile now and don't no what to do next. This is what i have tried: track bar, ball joints, dual stabilizers, rotated tires (which help a lot, kinda of like i had a bad belt in a tire). I not sure what to do next, and maybe someone has some ideas. Thanks

Could be the tires heard that BFG had given grie to some not sure which BFG tire or size. Another thing to look at would be the steering box, then the steering shaft see borgsen steering shafts.

the shaft or the box wont create wobble.
the steering stabilizer shocks were a waste. if the steering is good then they arent needed.

when did it start? all of a sudden? or when you put the tires on? the only other thing I would do is find someone with a set of wheels and tires you can borrow and see if it goes away. the Tie rod ends could be shot if the wobble doesnt go away.
If the symptom changed when you did the tires then I would venture to say you found the issue. make sure they are balanced as good as possible.

my 06 had this issue bad! only 35,000 miles on it. I took it to the dealer (it's under warranty) and they did ball joints, and 3 technical service bulletins 22-43-01-90, 19-63-01-93, and 02-15-20-94, one of these three is the 2008+ steering upgrade, and it's supposed to fix it. So far, it drives like a new truck (I mean, it should, the only stuff that's original is the pitman arm and the sway bar). They did just do the bushing in the track bar, not the whole thing. I'm going to put the steering brace on it now to try and keep it tight. I've also heard to put a ton of camber in it (a guy on here is running more than 5), but the dealer wouldn't do that for me, so I'll give it a shot for a bit, and we'll see if it's good or not.

the steering brace wont "keep" your steering tight. all that does it preven the sector shaft from deflection.

It all started about 3 months after i put the tires on. At first it was not that bad, then it got so bad i couldn't go over 40 mph. The one thing that i have notice is that it only does it on paved roads. Nothing at all on dirt or snow covered roads. Now after i have rotated the tires it really only happens when i go around a left hand curve at about 50 mph. Thanks for all the suggestions and help

do you feel silly replacing all of those parts now? When something is wrong with my truck, I ask "what changed?" If I just added something to the truck then I go there first.
then I ask "why did it change?" (if I have to).
I usually figure it out doing that.

I bought a used 03 2500 and on the way home I got the "Death Wobble". The next morning I checked the entire front end and everything was tight. A week later, and a dozen more encounters with the wobble, I got an alignment, still there. Finally I read on here about airing up the tires. i took mine from 45lbs to 65lbs and so far 2 weeks later I cant get it to wobble at all. Cheap fix, so you might want to give it a try.

stop wasting money on parts that are not verified bad... get an alignment and have the tech add as much caster into it as he can to keep it driving straight.

IIRC the upper spec is 4.5, mine is set to 5.0, 5.3. I currently have wasted ball joints, have had worn tie rods, tracbar and tires with 95k miles on them and STILL do not have or ever had the DW. the 1st thing I did to my truck was get an alignment after the tire swap.

get the alignment done asap and see how it does.

and make sure the tech adds the extra to the caster

Default mine too same tires

I just bought a 06 2500 cummins quad cab this weekend. It has a 2" leveling kit 315/70/r17 BFG allterrains also.On the way home a four hour ride interstate. I get the DEATH WOBBLE . I know why its called that ;traffic all around me backed off every time it did it. The slow learner I am it took 5 times of experimenting to figure out what to do to get me home. Any time I would drift over 80mph and the slightest bump here comes the DEATH WOBBLE and there goes traffic; it would take me slowing to 30mph to regain control. I have an appointment with a front end tech thursday , I'll keep you posted on my findings;otherwise the truck rides to smooth to stay under 80. i've looked the truck up and down and can't find anything; had it jacked up off the ground everything feels tight at only 37,000 miles I hope its not major . The seller says it has only done it to him once, a good while back......
