There are all kind of prices on these things, but it looked like the 2500/CTD premium in '08 over the 1500 5.7 was in the area of $11K ($6100 for the engine, another $5 for the 2500, give/take). Right or wrong, I'm thinking at that as being the difference between my 1500 and a comparable year/equipped 2500 CTD.

Its all abought need vers want
And paying for the want..

In my world, the hemi out shines a ctd, I was considering a new 6.7, until I was laid off, now A CTD is not that important.

My last test drive of a quad cab long box with the 6.7 really did not offer that much off advantage over my 5.7 hemi, the ctd was better towing on hills but empty, booth trucks accleration were really on par.

Truth be told, you will never go wrong with a CTD, but I take the price differance betwean the hemi and CTD and run for the hills...

I went and test drove both the Quad and the Megacab CTD. and I was really not impressed with the power compared to my 08 5.7. Now my 08 has a few performance mods but nothing crazy. I've heard alot about the power of the 6.7 CTD but I guess you have to do some mods to see the realy performance.

Also is the mileage any different between the 5.7 and the 6.9 CTD?

The CTD drove great for such a large truck.
