i've heard that on the 5.9 diesels u can pull a fuse that will stop the miles from being added until fuse is put back so i'm scared to buy used bcuz of this, but can it b dun on the 6.7, i've heard it cant but not sure. If so is it dun the same way 2? Thnx
I've heard that some people only type every other letter in a word so that the keystroke count shows to be artificially low when they go to resell their computer.
You can fool the odometer, but you won't fool the ECM by pulling the fuse.
The ECM keeps racking up the miles. If you think there is odometer fraud, bring it to the dealer and hook it up to the StarScan or DRBIII and it'll show the miles in the ECM.
The only thing that pulling the fuse does is makes the instrument panel not work, and a few other things.
racer9 and saltsman are idiots "dont worry about it" and something about a computer resell, how retarded. i understand that the ecm doesnt lie, but that wasnt the question. i dont want 2 buy a truck that shows 30k when it might really have 130k. i know this can be done by pulling a fuse in the fuse box on the 5.9l. Can it also be done on the 6.7l? if so how? so i now what 2 look 4 when i find a used 6.7l. Buying new might be the safest way 2 go...
