Default remote start on 12 valve

Hey, as winter is approaching I'm thinking of getting remote start installed on my 94 12 valve. The only thing that concerns me is if I don't have high idle will this thing even warm up? Do you guys have a way to allow the truck to be on high idle like an adjustable throttle linkage? Thanks

you should be able to set up some sort of a pull cable real easy, or maby ever better, would be a A/C high idle solinoid off of a gasser, build some brackets and wire up to work when ever you want.

after about a ten min. idle mine starts to get heat out of the vents, but it rarly gets below 30 deg. here

Can't you go to the dealer and get the 3cyl high idle feature flashed on? Or is that the 24V only?

Don't you have the block heater?

I have mine set on a timer in the shop so it kicks the block heater on 3 hours befor I plan to leave for work.

By the time I get in the truck, the temp gauge is usually over 140*.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I live in Alabama and it's not very cold, but it sure is nice to get in, start it up and have heat available almost immediately.

Ya, I live in northern Ontario, so the block heaters plugged in all night anyways, haha. How exactly can you get a A/C high idle solinoid wired in? Sounds interesting. I might just find an adjustable linkage or something, just wondering what everyone else does for the ol 12 valves during the cold season.

Its kinda a cheap thing to do but it has worked for me.(used it before we had 3cyl high idle on the 02 24v). if you take an adjustable short pole and wedge is against the seat and position it on the throttle to rev it to about 1200-1500rpm. So you could try that lol. Worked great!(please make sure its in park or neutral and the ebrake is set i am NOT responsible for injuries and or damage!)

First off if you start the truck with the block heater plugged in you fry the block heater. Air bubbles in the coolant rush by the element and break it. so remote start you will still have to go outside and or unplug it before you start the truck.
I fried mine starting the truck with the block heater plugged in. my truck will still started with out it. in northern Canada fat chance its going to with out the block heater.
