Default clicking when starting?plenty battery

this just started on mine when it started getting colder. now it does it every time i start it. checked voltage and it's fine. when i start it a fast clicking sound comes from in front of the drivers dash and continues after it's started for about 1-2 seconds. the lighting bolt light(fuel system) comes on. sometimes it stays on some times it'll go off. I would take it in but have to leave tomorrow for funeral. any ideas? 2007 3500 6.7 4x4 megacab drw

well the starter is on that side, I just tried to listen to see exactly were the sound was coming from while my son started it and of course it didn't do it this time. i'll try again in the morning when it's cooler.

sounds like a relay or soleniod for the grid heater turns on few seconds then goes off? those are usally mounted outside under the hood though not to sure if they moved them inside the cabin on 07's. the lightning bolt that's the fuel light That should be your grid heater/wait to start light.

well now it's not doing it anymore, it'll probably wait till i get out of town and start up again. i did start firing it up right after grid heater light goes off instead of waiting and lightning bolt no longer stays on. thank ya.

It could be that your solenoid contacts are worn and having an intermittent contact.

See info here.
