Default Transmission 48RE "Weird Problems"

This is not your ordinary 1-2 shift hunt. Even-tough I did have to replace the gov. psi sensor before. The shift indicator (The circle around the gear you are in) It will jump from D-2-1 and back and forth. It stays in drive 90% of the time. It does wont to shift down every once in-awhile. It seems to be coming out of drive and trying to go to 2nd. You have a RPM jump of 300 or so just for a second and back to normal. Any clues ????

Oh wow this has been here for a few days and nobody has posted on it. hummm
well our Transmissions ground wires have problems check all grounds and wires to the Trans. not saying that is the problem. But that is a good place to start.
Plus its FREE
I really don't know much about these transmissions but that is where it seems to everyone that posts here the first place to check is the grounds, and battery connections????????

It sounds like a problem with the Digital Range Sensor, which took the place of the nuetral saftey switch.Thats what light the dash up and it will drive the computer crazy if it doesn't know what gear is being selected. That's the first place I would go.Hope this helps.

It's on the driver side of the trans, right above the pan rail. Should have a 4 wire plug going to it.
