I hear the pump run when the key is on, as for the output rate?? Changed the fuel filter today and it runs even better than it did after doing the fca, ....getting closer, smoked the tires, couldn't do that before!!

Coal Train, got the batteries checked and they are good! What else would couse the p2609 code?? Also will get back to you on that airdog system!

The only other things I can think of with that code, short of replacing the grid heater, is to check the gaskets between intake horn and grid heater and grid heater to intake manifold cover.

The grid heater grounds through those gaskets and if one of those it blown out of bad, that would explain both problems.

Beyond that, the only things that could be causing the rough idle and low RPM cruising is fuel system related. More than likely it's either the Rail Pressure sensor, Cascade Overflow Valve, blown relief valve or an obstructed return line.

Only other thing to do is pull the injectors and get them cleaned and tested.
