Buying a Mega 07 6.7 Tomorrow
i'm buying a 2007 mega cab 6.7 6spd 4x4 with 62K tomorrow, well at least thats the plan if the truck looks alright.
Anything i should look for? ( turbo, engine, or trany)
I read a lot of discussion about the 6.7 vs the 5.9. I'm going to be towing a race car with a 28' enclosed trailer.
What kind of fuel mileage can i expect empty or towing?
Should i hold off and buy the 07 with a 5.9 instead??
thanks for the info

the emissions are all working well now and the 6.7's are not garbage but all that emissions crap really eats up the fuel, we had one and pulling a load only got 10-12mpg's and 15-17 empty, an identical truck we had with the 5.9 would get about 15-17 towing a good load, then we put a smarty on it and pulled a 26ft inclosed trailer to wyoming and back at about 25mpg's... there are some programers avalible, that allow your emissions stuff to "fall off", and can claim the milage back on the 6.7's

Interesting, my 5.9 gets 15-15.5 empty, and 10-12 towing... Everyone I've talked to with around the same year truck as mine is getting about the same mileage figures as I do... I would love to know what the trick is to getting 15-17 mpg towing a good load, maybe something is wrong with my truck?
What really drops our mileage is winter blended fuel and poor driving habits. Racing to the next stoplight. good driving habits is EGT under 600 degrees F and single digits boost..

I have the same year truck as you I get better mileage then you Summer time I get 17+ towing Is difficult I don't tow campers. I tow boats some are 10 ft wide some are 8ft some are 6 ft tall some are 13ft 6 inches tall.

6.7s IDK if they can get that much maybe 2wd 2500s and grandpa driving at 55mph with low gear ratio. then I could see it getting great mileage. but 4x4 3500 DRW 4.10 gears not the greatest MPG maker..
