Big Horn Package is simply a group of popular options combined into one. For 2500/3500 it consists of bodyside mouldings, sliding rear window, the polished aluminum wheels (25/3500 are only available with 17" wheels), fog lamps, Trailer Tow Group, tow hooks, Sirius, leather wrapped wheel, and the Big Horn badging. Also known as Lone Star and Thunder Road package in Texas and the northeast, respectively.

Over the years (06-10) some options may have been added or dropped, but thats pretty much the gist of it

And as an aside, my 3500 rides noticeably smoother than my 2500. The 2500s rearend bounces all over the place, where the 3500 tends to stay settled more and plants the power better. Other than that, they are identical trucks minus the tranny

huh now i woulda thought a 3500 would be a rougher ride because of the beefy-er rear suspention.

You should only feel the extra overload springs when you start loading up the rear end though, should be identical until you get 500-1000 pounds in the bed, or so I was led to believe.

I ended up getting an 08 2500 Laramie quad cab short bed, 46k miles, auto... it's got everything but a cd changer or nav... sunroof, heated leather, rear power slider, it's freaking nice. Since I picked it up, the egr/dpf got tossed, Black Maxx tuner, S&B intake, AFE exhaust, Trac-Rac w/trac-box, Westin side steps (black), and a 24' Pace American enclosed car hauler.

After getting the programmer and everything else sorted, I got 23mpg cruising on the highway. 16ish with the trailer in tow.

You WILL NOT notice any difference in ride quality or any other aspect between the 2500 and 3500 SRW.

The overload springs sit on top of the sping packs and only engage the perches on the frame when the truck is loaded down.

Otherwise, you're riding on the exact same suspension as a 2500.
