Default OD push button switch (electrical need help!)

OK, I own a 94 cummins and plan on making a torque lock up switch using another OD button switch (located above the HVAC controls), so it looks clean and factory.

Anyways I got a switch from a parts ram, and got myself kind of confused...

I got all of the wires sorted out to the two wires i need in my "button switch". One wire coming from ignition power source going into my "button switch" and then other leaving my "button switch" going to a relay.

Now my problem is in my "button switch", Im not 100 percent sure of how they work.

When I push the button switch in and hold it in I have continuity between my two wires. But when i push it in let it out I do NOT have continuity.

How do I make this work so I can push it in and let it out while still have continuity through it??

Further research got me this: my OD push button switch is a "momentary push button switch" and needs a "latching relay" in order to work. When the current is turned off, the latching relay remains in its last state.

Think I'm on the right track Ill keep digging.
