6.7L tuner?
Hey guys I am looking for a tuner for my 2010 2500 with the 6.7 and 6 speed auto. The tuners I am looking at are the H&S mini maxx, and the smarty jr. I know that there are alot of options out there but I have heard that the bully dog has a history of taking out transmissions and that the two that I had mentioned are sort of the best. I would appreciate any info that you might have I think that I am gonna go pick one up this week.

i will tell you what i have been told the smarty is the best programmer ou can buy for a cummins i run the jr on my 05 cummins and it is amazing best thing i have bought for my truck and it still allows you to add a chip later if you ant because it doesnt affect timing like a chip does so in my opinion i would get the smarty either the smarty or the jr both have the same hp just one has more stages is all

depending what you wanna do with the truck, the h&s is my pick. you get guages and the ability to monitor everything you need and you get shift on the fly. but any programer will hurt trans or clutch depends on driver. now if you just want better fuel mileage and just a little more power then the smarty jr is the way to go. ive run both on my 08

I'm running the Black Maxx, and the trans held up fine until I decided I wanted to power brake a little at a light to get a good dig off the line, and the underdrive clutches melted and fused together.
Any programmer, or even stock power levels, will enable you to really mess things up. I like having EGT, Boost, Coolant temp and Trans temp all right in front of me. One thing I want to add is fuel pressure.

All of the programmers r transmission friendly....they all have a stock or mild setting but its up to the driver to control their foot. Believe me its hard not to want more power. Lol I'm not an auto guy but I've riden in a truck with the overdrive program and it controls shift points and overdrive lockup. It's nice for fine tuning.

Without the Overdrive trans flash, my truck was shifting into 4th at 28 mph/1100 rpm, 5th at 38, and 6th at about 45ish. I hated it. Slow down a couple mph and it's now at 900rpm. Lame. To get going with any sort of haste you have to either give it so much throttle that it downshifts (eventually) or lug it.
With Overdrive, it's a whole different game - it shifts at ~1800 rpm instead of 1100, keeping the engine in the power band for snappy throttle response.
