Default Help... getting 5 MPG with my '01

I have an '01 Ram 4wd with a cummins. I just got it home from the shop... put new contacts in the starter and replaced a battery cable. In July it had new fuel lines, and all that stuff from the receipt is says (map sensor, fuel lift pump, high psi injection pump, ofi pump and ofi map sensor) also had a new rear end put in October... I haven't drove it much this winter, but just did the math on it and my trip check says I went 47 miles...and when I filled it up it took 11 gallons... When I do run it I let it warm up and idle quite a bit but this shouldn't be affecting my fuel mileage that much I wouldn't think. I just bought the truck in July and the only other time I calculated fuel mileage I was getting 10 (but I was pulling a heavy load up a switch back mountains). Oh it also has a Power Edge Module. Anyways...any ideas? I am really not wanting to take it back to the shop, especially if it's something I can do. Thanks!

My first guess is that your plenums blown and sucking oil into the intake.

Sorry I posted it in the wrong forum...got confused. Also confused about the plenum thing Mr. Freeze... I'm a 23 year old female and engines aren't my area of expertise so can't tell if you are just joking or whether that could really be the problem So does my 2001 dodge ram cummins turbo diesel have a plenum? Any other ideas? Hope you all get a laugh from the dumb girl on the dodge truck forum haha

98 Dakota, thanks I will keep checking back. I figured out last night that my first problem is that apparently my trip check isn't working right...it said I went 47 miles and I calculated it out and my trip was 108. So that means already that my MPG are up to 10. I was hoping and think i should be able to get at least 15 with it though so I hope everyone will let me know what I should check/do. Also I'm not familiar with the Power Edge Module, could this be affecting MPG and is there a way to adjust it so I get better fuel economy? I have plenty of power...only towing a small 2 horse slant trailer.

Cummins does not have the plenum issue.
Also if we were all experts we would'nt have to post questions on this forum either.
