Default 2500 transmissions

I just bought a 2001 dodge ram 2500, it basically needs a total overhaul, so at this point I'm just starting with the tranny rebuild... which is the way to go?
A618 or NV5600?

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone will chime in soon with some good advice. I am unfamiliar with those trannys.
