Default Which Lift Pump Are you guys recomending?

Both pumps just went out so I'm looking for a VP44+lift pump combo for around $1,500 or so. There's the FASS 150, Airdog 150, Raptor 150, etc..... Whats the best or what are you guys running?? Thanks for the help

Fass 150 is a good pump, another new option out people are raving about is the DTT Assassin mechanical lift pump

mounts to the front of the motor under the oil pan and is belt driven.

I'm an airdog guy. I haven't done detailed analysis of FASS vs Airdog, but apparently they're the same family who started feuding and split up. Similar products from what I understand, with minute details differing.

The old airdog stuff is ok but the new stuff isnt that great. A lot of people are having problems with them. I personally run a fass 150 and its a great pump. Another good option is dtt assassin. They are great mechanical belt driven pumps. If it were me I would pick between those 2.

I like my old airdog too, but the guy who owned pureflow sold the company, and product quality has gone straight in the sh!tter since....

I see failures pretty frequently on cumminsforum mostly from bad motor seals.

they have been having a real problem lately with the seals allowing diesel to leak into the electric motor shorting out the motor.

not to mention their new quick connect design allows air to be sucked into the system causing pressure drops.

they completely ruined the design since the old man left the company. FASS is the way to go now...same basic original design, but FASS has not been skimping on product quality.

if this were 3+ years ago, I would agree airdog all the way, but the company has changed and definitely not for the better.

I say mechanical. I won't be buying AirDog and FASS is in about the same boat.

Get big and quality diminishes...sad but true.

Well that's interesting.

And it explains some of the annoyance I encountered when I moved my pump from my 6.7 to my 12-valve. I just wanted the parts needed to make it work.... so I called them up and figured they could just ship me the bits that are different between the 18 psi setup and the 30 psi setup.

Nope. They sent me a handful of parts I couldn't use, and didn't send me some that I needed. A trip to my local Goodyear Hose store had it fixed, but what a PITA...

Well, I can wait the 3 weeks to get the DTT Assasin, so I went with the FASS Titanium 150. At some point down the road I'll go to the Assasin. Thanks fellas
