good luck with that....

the best tuner out for your truck is $900 and is called EFILive

avoid banks products. they are junk for a cummins.

edge ez is really the only thing in your price range and its only going to add 65hp...

400 bones ain't much. EFILive isn't available for 05, so that's out.

Smarty Jr is $495. Might be able to pick up a used Jr or S06 on something like Cummins Forum for the $400 price range. I wouldn't mess with anything else personally.

thats lame. yeah used smarty then... finding one for $400 though will be difficult...

I just picked up a smarty for my truck a couple weeks ago for $475 used. (needed it to pass emissions as my truck was due for emissions this year, and it got me to pass! )

Depends on how much power you ultimately want. If you'll be getting into turbo and injector mods, S06 all the way.

If you just plan on the small tune and that's pretty much it, Jr is fine.

If your stock, go with the jr. 100hp is almost as much as some cars make straight from the factory, anything higher and your definately going to have to invest in gauges ( primarily egt) and eventually some trans work if you dont rip it out the first time your crank the power level up and let'er rip.

If you are looking for a SMARTY I have one and I am trying to sell it. I bought the truck and it came with it. 400 is what I am asking for it...
