Unhappy tow mirrors

i have a 2012 dodge 2500 diesel bought new went to tow my trailer found out i had no tow mirrors. Dealer said they dont make tow mirrors as a add on yet. talk to another dealer said we have mirrors that work $399.00 ea.

ram truck body builder support group said
The trailer tow mirrors will physically bolt onto your truck however, the door modules, door wiring, and the entire instrument panel wiring harnesses are unique. This means that the mirror controls, and lights on the mirrors (if they are the higher line models) will be unable to function.
And changing all of the electrical and electronic components would very expensive and problematic>
can any body hep!!!!!

Try DCH temecula dodge. They are in Ca. I found them on e-bay. 672.00 shipped to me, direct bolt on. The are oem mopar mirrors. No reprograming of door modules. They flip up just like the gen 3 trucks. Not sure why but the new trucks have to be ordered from the factory with the tow mirros.

There's a number of folks that have swapped tow mirrors, and even lighted ones where their truck didn't originally have them. I'm pretty confident in saying the harnesses do not need to be switched, and absolutely NOT the dash harness.

I've never looked into it in detail, but glimpsing info on the swap I don't recall any of that.

The new mirrors will come with a harness. They are plug and play. The door panels have to come off, because the mirror harness plugs into the door module
