How to obtail 4 digit pin # assigned to your truck
Any dealership should be able to get it for you, provided you have proof of ownership.
I manage a Chrysler Dodge Ram and Jeep parts department and if you were to call us, all we would need is your vin number and registered owners name and we could provide you with the pin at no cost. It usually doesn't take very long to get this so you should not be charged.
I live in Canada and I was at the dearlership today to get the pin # and they told me that they couldn't give it to me. They also told me that the pin # was changing all the time, that it was never the same #. Is there a way to get it without going to the dealership ??

Yep. And all their dealership inventory confiscated.

I walked into a local dealership today and asked for my pin... they just needed my vin from my registration and I had it in about 3 minutes. I used it to program 2 new key I bought on ebay for $9 each.
I just had to go through this. This is like a SSN for your vehicle. You must go down in person and prove you are the owner of the vehicle with ID. The dealerships also fails to mention to bring cash. Yes they do charge you for this 20 .00 to 50.00 dollars. This has been the answer as I called several places. I live in Phoenix,Az
