Default DEF question

Hi I have a 2018 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins that requires the def at least until the Warranty runs out at which time I will delete it but for now I have noticed that a circle k station has started selling DEF at the fuel pumps and it is quite a bit cheaper than the jugs do you think it’s safe to use or has anyone else used any of this thanks

It likely has to be certified for use, in order for them to sell it, so, I would expect that it is perfectly safe to use. Not like making DEF is really complicated. It's urea, in water........ Expect it to get more expensive around planting season. (urea is essentially a fertilizer....)

Bubbalowe,

I started buying DEF at the pump over 7 years ago for my Freightliner when I still drove big trucks. Never had a problem with quality or performance. price was about 60% of the price buying in jugs. and price USUALLY was pretty stable.

things you can do for the aftertreatment system:
-don't overfill the def tank...keep it at 80%max...the new level indicator system needs headspace in the def tank to read correctly. frozen def needs room for expansion so it doesn't squeeze the crud out of the pump and tank.
-don't excessively idle the engine
-when it starts a regeneration...drive until its finished...while the system is hot.
