Default Service 4WD light on

Hi all,
I have a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel that I bought 2 days ago. It has only 67,500km (low mileage) and air suspension. They changed breaks at the dealer.

Last night i was inside the truck programming my garage door opener and when I turned the truck on the service 4wd light came on. The 4wd doesn't engage either.

I've read this is common. Is there a fix for it? Thank God I purchased extended warranty!

Thanks in advance!

Probably need to plug in a scanner, and see what it is whining about..... If it were a wheel speed sensor, I would think the ABS light would be on as well.

Or your scanner just can't read 'em. I think you need a fairly high-zoot scanner to talk to all the various systems on the new trucks......

Tried 2, one of them being a MAC Tools scanner. Just as an update, I was just driving 20 minutes ago and the light went out. I tried engaging 4WD Lock, struggled and light came on again. 4x4 didn't work.

The mac should have picked it up...... Do you have to specifically check for 'other' codes, or will it read all the modules and show any stored codes?

Anything in the owners manual about that particular light?

Default 4WD light

Disconnect the battery and see if it reboots.
