Hello, Does anyone know how the FUEL TEMP SENSOR works on the FUEL HEATER and PRE-FILTER ASSEMBLY of a 1997 5.9 L Cummins engine? Whatever was above the cover has melted away leaving two bare wires. The heater is still good according to my electrical continuity test. I would like to improvise a new TEMP SENSOR as they are not sold separately and the whole assembly is over $370 (Can). I want to know how the contacts are made to open and close or how the circuit is opened and closed. If all else fails, I will run an on /off switch to the dash. Thanks for any help. Alan
