Getting the silencer ring out
this is the silencer ring

if you look at the snap ring it has beveled edges, get a screw driver under the beveled edge and pry it out. then the silver doughnut thing will fall out.
there are no performance gains or losses, it just makes the turbo louder

If you take off your intake, it's a "ring" or cone that you will see around the fan on the turbo. It's held in by a C ring that on my truck seems to be next to impossible to remove. It basically directs the air into the fan, but also quiets down the whistling sound of the turbo. From what I understand, Cummins sends the enging to Chrysler without the ring and then Chrysler puts it on to quiet the trucks. No performance gain or anything, just more noise.
i got my ring out. wow that sounds good!! i love it.
now do i have to put the clip back in to hold anything in place?
