the intake baffel is going to be in the hard plastic down tube between the filter and the turbo. you can cut the ends off and the middle will fall right out.

as for the speedo, either you have a gremlin in the computer, of the pigtail in the dash came loose.

Hey guys I'm new to this and don't know where the "downtube" is. Does anyone have a picture?

BTW I just bought a 1999 2500 4x4 CTD SLT w/ Banks programmer and 4" exhaust.
This thing FLYS!

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing that the "downtube" isn't up / down it's just downstream from the airbox.

BTW my rig is an automatic and the gear indicator on the dash doesn't work. Any ideas?

with your 99 I believe the tube makes a 180 bend from the air box to the turbo. the 03's to present have two 90 degree bends between the air box and the turbo and the section between which is hard plastic had some baffeling in it to decrease noise.

with the indicator, I would check the connections behind the dash and make sure they havent corroded/come unplugged

Thanks Drew. I checked the downtube and its wide open. I"ll look under the dash to check for loose wires.
