Fuel Mileage
My truck has 15,500 miles on it ... I just go the best mileage yet. Coming back from the Thanksgiving weekend is the first day my truck has seen below 60 degrees. It has been over 80. Coming back it was in the high 30's to low 40's.
I've made the trip home (550 miles r/t) numerous times and the best I get was 17-18. Going up, I got my normal 17-18mpg. This time coming back I got over 20 mpg.
Can this be related to the air temperature/air density?

19.5 to 19.75 no load 50mph average mostly back roads. bone stock auto with 3:73's. no fancy additives or other crap i dont really believe in (hey I'm entitled to my opinion). lots of coasting to the stop signs.

When my truck had less than 5k miles on it, I pulled an 6000lb trailer from Fairbanks, AKto Illinois, then to California. I averaged 13.0, with around13.5 in the mountains and12.5 in the flatlands. I guess this was due to running 75-80 out on the open highway. Right now, with 85k miles, I get 21 (hand calculated), with mostly highway driving.

Currently with 2,800 mile on the truck, the best highway mileage at 75 mph is 17 mpg and the worst in city driving is 12 mpg. All hand calculated. The truck is stock and full of CA emissions. I hope that when this puppy is broken in the mileage will increase. Plan to buy a fifth wheel this spring and will check back with mpg under a load.
