RE: Fuel Mileage
2004 3500 Quad 100% stock
no fuel additives
4 spd auto
3.73 (I think) only had truck 2 weeks
4x4
Put about 2000 miles on in past 2 weeks. Some just no load hiway speeds 75 - 85 (this is Texas!) 18 - 19 mpg some pulling an 8000# piece of construction equipment part of the time in tow/haul part without and still knocking off 14 ish with that kind of a load.
Friends keep asking why I bought a Cummins with fuel at 4.75? I tell them to do the math. My old truck 98 Chevy 3500 with a 454 would get13.5 on the hiway, but pulling a load would drop to 10 ish. I'm saving 6 or so cents per mile with the current spread between gasoline and diesel

RE: Fuel Mileage
First time posting. Found this thread interesting. 2005 Ext. cab, short bed, 2500, 4x4, Smarty installed, 35" tires, manual trans.,52,000 miles, hand calc. the last tank ( $156.00 to fill, OUCH !) 22.2 MPG. Very happy with the results for having 35's on it. Makes me wonder what I could be getting with the stock tires. I just ordered a 5" turbo back exhaust tonight, hope it sounds alittle better and maybe get a extra MPG out of it.

RE: Fuel Mileage
1) Are you stock, Yes or No and what are you running
S&B Intake, Amsoil full synthetic fluids througout, A.R.E. hard Tonneau, but otherwisestock hardware
2)Fuel additives, Yes or No and what kind of Mix (brand and how much per tank)
Amsoil Diesel Concentrate, 1oz per 5 gallons
3)Auto or Manual
G56 6-Spd
4) rear axel ratio
3.73
5) 2wd or 4wd
4wd
6) almost ready to turn 49,000 miles
First calc last weekwas 18.7mpg, and just this morning was 18.3mpg. Overhead liar says 19.6mpg. My commute is 30 miles one way, which is about 8-10 miles surface streets depending which way I get to the freeway...

Poor milage
I have a stock 08 Ram quad cab 4x4 manual. It has 10,500 miles. No matter if I drive highway at 85, or 55, haul *** through the gears or drive like tenderfoot, I never exceed 13 mpg, hand calculated. I think the rear end is geared 342. I live in Florida where a hill is the interstate ramp. I'm absolutely lost as to why it won't do better? It's had all the dealer adjustments and the oil changed 4 times.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. I love the truck and especially the torque.

I have a 2003 2500 with the 6 speed manual, 3.73 gears, and 4 wheel drive.
My mods are removing the silencer ring, and the downtube baffle, and a 4" Silverline Exhaust. I am running a custom tune, best guess is about 375hp/800ft-lb. I'm also running Amsoil synthetic fluid in the Transmission and Transfer Case. Oil is Shell Rotella T. Also running Toyo Open Country AT 285/75 tires (34/11.5) on the stock 17x7.5 wheels.
If I'm running down the interstate (70-75 mph) unloaded I get about 17-18. Around Town I get around 16. But country roads at 55, I have seen 21-23 mpg. I have even gotten 21 mpg pulling a 2-horse trailer at 55 mph.

You may be having the issues with the DPF seeing as how you are driving an 08, have you had your computer flashed a few times or at all for that matter?
