Fuel Mileage
06 MegaCab Laramie, 4X4, 4:10's (next week change to 3:73). Calculate 16.0 combined. 15.0 city. 17.5 Highway @ 70 mph. I had to take 4:10 gears to get the light khaki unless I wanted to fly to Seattle and drive one home. Cheaper to change the gears.
Usually stay between 22.5 to 23, hit 24 once or twice. (per tankful)
Meticulousy hand calculated, Dead stock 2004.5 2500 8ft bed, no additives, 6spd HD manual, 3.73, 2wd, and try to keep the rpm around 1800....definitely no more than 2000 and carrying only about 400 lbs in back and the tallest cap I could find on the bed.
That said, actually "used" the truck for the first time recently hauling a 26' travel trailer. HOLY SCHNIKEES what a serious hit ( I did drive about 5 mph faster than I normally do also {yes I meant faster}). Looks to be at about 15 in that condition. I freaked out at first, then thought hey wait..that's still better than a gas truck empty.

Consistently averaging 23 + mpg with my truck - 29,000 miles
Always hand calculated.
Not stock - muffler delete, air raid, predetor fuel module.
4x4 6 speed dually long box
Towing a 16,200 pound, 40 foot fifth wheel cargo trailer averaged 10.9 mpg over 2,590 miles
Towing a 9,400 pound, 30 foot fifth wheel trailer averaged 12.3mpg over the same 2,590 miles.
Towing a 6,800 pound, 32 foot travel trailer averaged 9.5 mpg over the same 2.590 miles, but against a head wind for the last 1300 miles.
I use the truck for serious hauling, but use it for daily driving as well - my Jeep Wrangler only gets 19 mpg.

since this is a hot topic these days with fuel cost, what kind of mileage are you getting?
hand calculate is preferable
other things to note in your post:
1) Are you stock, Yes or No and what are you running
2)Fuel addatives, Yes or No and what kind of Mix (brand and how much per tank)
3)Auto or Manual
4) rear axel ratio
5) 2wd or 4wd
the last three might seen a bit odd, but this might show potential buyers the fuel mileage hit one will get between auto, manual and 4x4
Me.
still stock
16oz Power Service Grey Bottle & 8oz MMO
NV5600 6spd
4.10's

I have a fuel milage on the freeway of 23.5 mpg when traveling at 60mph
I think the best fuel savers are a FASS fuel system, a chip like edge or bully dog and a low resriction exhaust system.
Simple fuel saving tips proper tire inflation, slow starts after complete stop, coast to stops, use cruise control at every possible moment.
I have a:
1. Dodge Cummins 2500 1999
2. 4x4
3. 4.10 rear end
4. Automatic
The only mod is a FASS fuel system - after install I got 1mpg+ city, 2mpg+ hwy
Fuel additive standyne 2x what is recommended
05-2500CTD 4WD long-bed.
All stock- 4 speed - 4.10's
61000 miles and loving it...
High-way miles ( taking in effect trips of 200 miles or more - around 20.6 calculated by hand / 20.9 comp.
Local driving 16.8 ( calculated by hand / 17.0 comp ) but with frequent starts and stops on a Suturday with the G.F. to the stores it drops to 15.1 quick.
MMO - 8oz every other tank. ( I noticed that MPG remained the same if I do it every other tank) but if I do not ad it for 3 or 4 fill-ups MPG drops about 1.5 Mpg so it sure does work for MPG improvement and the extra smearing your engine gets.

Pulled my 28ft toy hauler over the mountain last weekend and here are the results. trip was 302 mile round trip, trailer was full of water and fuel which should put her around 11k, road is a two lane curvey mountain road with many steep climbs. Overhead says my avg was 9.2 MPG but hand calculated was 8.86 MPG. This was also my 1st time pulling with my new truck which has 3k on it and I was driving hard to see what she could do. Actually much harder than I would normally. All in all she still did better than my 05 HEMI who got about 6MPG pulling the same trailer, of course that truck had 34.5 BFG'S and 4"56's. The noticeble difference is that the cummins still had power to give where the HEMI was giving all she had. Another item to note is that there are many sharp curves that lead into a steep climb, which make you slow to about 30 mph just before hitting the hill so you have to step on it a bit to get her back up to 55 mph. On the highway I average about 17.5.
