Just got my '06 2500 QC CTD 4x4 48RE last Tuesday and the first tank netted 14.8mpg. The overhead console was reporting 13.6 so it's a little on the low side of reporting. I'll start towing with it next week to give the CTD a good work out and we'll see where things go from there.

I'd like to do a few mods for slightly more power and increased mileage but you guys reporting a drop in mileage with intake/exhaust/programmers/etc. doesn't make me want to do any changes at all.

Or is it just the fact that the increase in power makes you want to keep your foot in it and this is the real reason the mileage drops......

Any input for this new diesel owner appreciated.

when I got mine I was getting 16 added the K&N intake went to 17.3 added the BD muffler and BDTD went doen to 14.5-15.6 I'm kinda pissed also.

 

troop... I bet your turbo spools up much faster now. btw what is a BDTD? I'll bet that if you go back to your stock airbox your milage will come back.

 

I now have 12,600 miles on my 06 and this past weekend it put in a stellar performance of 19.5 mpg (calculated by hand). Off the lot I was lucky to get 14.5 mpg, but........... just as everyone told me she has only gotten sweeter with time.
