Default RE: OIL TO FULL?????

I couldnt wait so I went out and checked the oil again. It been sitting for about 4 hours and to my releif the level was just right

I dont have the syn. oil but it would appear that checking it cold is the way to go. Either way this is something I check at every fill up and when I saw that creepin up there I was a bit shaken after reading some other posts.

As a side note I did talk to my reg. dealer and told him the symptoms and had set up a prelim. injector isolation test and the first thing he said was "dont you have a chip on that?" I of course said no and he quickly came back with "Thats right, thats that other guy". It sounded to me like he was lookin for a reason.....

Or then again it could be my guilty conscience [sm=badbadbad.gif]

From experience I have learned that oil expands when heated. I work at a hydro electric dam and when we fill the thrust bearing with cold oil on an annual basis we never fill the housing up to the full mark on the sight glass. We are using about 1500 gallons of oil and our fill mark when cold is about 3 inches below the full mark. When the oil warms up it expands that 3 inches to the full mark.
