Drew, I think they knew they were screwed when I told then I had already contacted the GA Office of Consumer Affairs (Lemon Law), the GA State Attorneys Office, the BBB, the Chamber of Commerce, Dodge Customer Assitance, etc. They were gonna lose $$$$$$ one way or another. How much they were willing to lose was the choice they had to make.

Yeah, that's the only real down side is babying it again. Not that I beat on it anyways.

I think they just made a real quick decision that I was gonna cost them a lot more money if they didn't get my truck right than they would by just doing what they did.

I'm sorry, but I'm only cordial for a certain amount of time. When negotiating and persuasion fail, brute force and intimidation are a great motivator. And scaring away customers....

On a good note, I've been running the truck around and doing the normal crap today and it's running great. No issues to speak of, so hopefully it stays that way. I don't think they'd be real happy to see me or my truck again. [:-]

YOU ARE LUCKY YO GOT THAT MUCH ATTENTION FROM THE DEALER my last vehicle had it in the shop 2 days after i bought it and 6 times within 2 months i finaly flipped and all they did was call the cops and put my truck on the street and tell me take a hike and then called chrysler again 15th call and they proceded to tell me they have nothing else to say and hung up on me .but guess what my payment was late and they wanted to now why,now they want to talk to me .and as for the lemmon law its a joke just like every protective legislation for the company oops i mean consumer . in texas they get neumerous attemts to fix it but it has to be same fault each time by the time you get enough things stacked up its over a year and you get screwed hung up on and played with but remember the payment is still due and it is a different department and they cant help,by the way do you have a payment!!!!!!!!!

the only opption get a lawyer and let them handle it expensive but worth it ,got new truck and paid for all the b.s

so now for me any problems resembling the last fiasko ,Drop truck at dealer hand GM the keys and my lawers card
and wish him a great day ,i will never give myself a ulcer again playing games with the big guys

The thing with the lemon laws is that it varies from state to state and they are very specific in what they say. The best thing you can do is educate yourself on the laws, so when they give excuses, you have hard facts to throw at them. Any good GM or owner is gonna know these laws and when you can spit out specifics, they know that you are not playing.

First step is generally a letter of concern to the dealership. Write it professionally and state the facts; dates, times, places, names, problems, findings. Bring that in and have several more CC'd to the various consumer groups and advocates for your state. Give them the letter and have the others in hand to drop at the mail box. This usally gets a little attention that you are serious.

Get the packet from your state office of consumer affairs that deals with filing a lemon law compliant. Specific steps that you have to follow or you get no love.

Formal complaints to BBB and Chamber of Commerce. The BBB and CoC are generally to ones who play the mediaries in these cases. Get them on your side so they will help you play ball.

State Attorney Generals Office. They are usually glad to make a phone call when it comes to cases like this.

Any the best part for me was letting them know that I was filing a complaint with Ft Benning's SJA. Get a few complaints against you with documented issues and your business finds itself on the off limits establishments list. When your business is in a military town and most of your money comes from the military, even 30 days on this list can cost you, BIG TIME.

There are ways to go about it, but being informed (not just angry) is the only way to get results.

As for what was wrong, I didn't even care! I just made them replace the whole damn thing.

yeooo another bad dodge and a man in uniform. esp a ranger uniform and one who just came back home . go get em . and heres one from a old e7 man.
as to problem dodges he's not alone. my first one "5.2" had 3 sets of cyl heads,' found out when they replaced the crack ones the tech never took the time to even lap/seat the valves in fact he put the old ones back and never even refaced them causeing a missfire code problems. 3- 45rfe auto tranies all for the same problem the valve body blowing apart because dcx leave up 4 srews retaining the plate and that makes the others fail from the line presure . 2 transfer cases , 4 upper ball joints 3 of which broke . a steering rack, 3 sets of pads and rotors all in under 12k. i went and got lemon law with a new truck to replace the other one . just as freeking bad.
and the dealer was no better then most to deal with. he went as far as saying you never had it serviced here and that was the cause of the problems . yah sure i was a factory feild tech for another german auto company till i retired last year. try and bs some one else . they even put the wrong brake parts into the rear drums
i have had many good mopars in my 44 years of driving, even wish i still had my big old power wagen at times with it's hemi. but the new german/american stuff sorry guys no way ever again. give me a real 100% true mopar .

to the dodge techs who try and know their stuff. and i know it's not always the tech. it's the managers who want the fast turn around and big buck screw the owner sales items. to you the good techs thumbs up and thanks for trying hard .

I sure hope these sort of "lemons" are not common for new Dodge owners. The engine problems you describe sound virtually identical to what I just went through with my old Ford 6.0. I will be picking my new Dodge in a day or two. These sort of stories are on every new topic of the Ford Forum, but until now, I have not seen you guys describe any real problems with your Cummins. I still trust Cummins will be a solid engine compared to what I am accustomed to.

99.9% of this problem WAS NOT the truck, it WAS the techs screwing things up.

Like I was saying originally, I brought the truck in originally for a slight, and I mean very slight, vibration between 1600 - 1800 RPM's. It just felt funny, so I wanted them to look at it.

Tech says it felt like a TC and they replaced it...................This is where the problems started. They kept screwing up, and screwing up, and screwing up. I will say flat out, that this WAS NOT a problem with the truck or the engine or anything else........this was the dealership screwing up.

DocDave, don't sweat your new truck. I traded in my '04 SD for this one and am very happy with the overall quality of the truck. Now, will I ever allow that dealship to work on my truck again......................NOT A FRIGGIN CHANCE IN HELL!!!!!

They can offer me free oil changes for the life of my entire family, I'll do it myself before I allow them to touch it again.

Ahhhhh, here we go again!

I was checking things out today and what do I see. There is no coolant in the recovery bottle.

So, I start looking for leaks and I don't find any. ANYWHERE! Now what concerns me is that I checked all this stuff when I picked it up; you know, just in case somebody was thinking of some funny business.

It took over 2 gallons to get it back up to normal in the bottle.

I traced all the coolant lines and could not find anything. That leads me to a very bad conclusion. I'm thinking a head gasket leak that is going into a cylinder. I checked the oil and it was at a normal level, so I don't think it's there. But, I also don't notice any white smoke in the exhaust, so that's thowing me off a little too.

So anyways....it's going back to the dealership on Monday. I already wrote DC it's Notice of Final Attempt to Repair, so the next thing they are getting is the letter to replace or refund the vehicle. Which at this point, I'm more wanting it refunded than anything else.

All this crap in 2 months. This is really getting frustrating. I absolutely love everything else about this truck, but I do not trust it anymore.

My Dr. just prescribed me Adivan, a cousin to Xanax. It makes normal people like jello and very very sleepy. Me, oh what does it to to me.........................it just keeps me normal.

Dang, that sucks! I hate to say that I was rather amused reading the first post though because I had a run in with my Avenger and it's paint awhile back too.
Though I know that day is done with, I felt the urge to instigate you through it, in your first post, lol. Good rant, it even had me fired up.
I am glad that you stated that it's not the truck that had the issues, but that it was the techs who made the minor, minor issue a wreck. Busy is one thing, but when a dealership who charges out the wazoo screws things up because of negligence...that's not right.
I'm on your side Cumminalong. There are some dealerships like that, sadly. Sorry about your truck
