Default WHEEEEEEEEEW, that was aggravatting!

Well, to make a long story short.....

Truck was in the dealer 5 TIMES; total of 13 days out of 37 that I have owned it. [sm=bomb.gif]

Started with a vibration at 1600 - 1800 rpms. Torque converter was replaced, did not solve. Tech destroyed the tranny cross member; replaced after I noticed it and ripped the service manager. 2 days later the tranny cooler line gets ripped off by the front driveshaft; tech forgot to secure the lines and the d-shaft ripped them off, making a nice mess. Truck is in for 5 days, getting this repaired. I pick the truck up, drive home, am in the house for 30 minutes, come back out and there is a pool of tranny fluid running from under my truck. IRRATE?.........that is an understatement. I'm on the phone, driving like a complete jerk, smoking tires and blow'n smoke to the dealership. The service department is already closed and the GM and New Car Sales manager get a full dose of my old Drill Sergeant mentality; 3 salesman were scrambling to find me a NEW, 2500, QC, CTD to drive off the lot. Not a happy camper in the least. [sm=headbang.gif]

Wait........it gets better!

I pick the truck back up, start looking it over..............guess what? Now the friggin engine has an oil leak! [sm=icon_flaming.gif]

Holy Friggin Christmas!!!!!!!! I'm into full rage mode now. I'm glad I left the pistols at home becuase I would have been in jail rght now.

Sooooooooooo, after getting the owner, the GM, the new car sales manager, and the sevice manager in one room and the Dodge Customer Assistance person on the speaker phone, I commence to a verbal *** whipping on everybody and their mother.

End of story, I now have a brand new 5.9 in the truck, a new tranny, a new t-case, a new exhaust and free maintenance for 100K in a truck that has 2800 miles. [sm=drooldude.gif]

Man, I am getting drunk as a skunk tonight! [sm=alcoholic.gif]

Thanks for letting me vent!
Rich

Wow. Yea, I would be pissed off (which doesn't even discribe it) as well.
Glad to hear that they did own up to it though.

HAHAHA holy that was a very entertaining story.....boy sounds the tech's at that dealership picked the wrong truck to F*** up on, its funny to picture them scrambleing over the parking lot to get a different CTD. Good to hear they bumped your warranty and replaced virturally your entire drive train.....sucks that you had to go thru those headaches but it was a pretty entertaing post !!!

Pissed is definitely on the lighter side of what I was with this.

If anybody lives in the Columbus, GA area......DO NOT go to Carl Gregory Dodge. This was, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the worst experience I have EVER had with a service department. Their only saving grace was the service advisor, Melissa, who REALLY went out of her way to try and get this solved. I can't say enough good things abut her, this went into my letter to the BBB, Chamber of Commerce, OCA, GA Atty Gen, and the owner.

She was the ONLY reason that I didn't file a lemon law complaint.

jnelly,

Brother, I'm a pretty easy guy to get along with, but I DO NOT deal well with incompetence or excuses.

What was really funny was that in my little rage, I scared 2 customers out of the show room and another off the lot as I was chasing and yelling at the salesmen, who ended up handing me the keys to an '06, 3500, MegaCab, 4x, CTD.

I figure between the 3 people I scared out of the dealship, all the crap that got replaced on my truck, the maintenance that I now get free, the 2 rental vehicles I had from the first 2 issues and the 500 miles that I put on the lot truck that I was driving for a week; I probably cost them well over 100K.

Oh yeah, and I shut their service department down for 2 hours because when I brought the truck there and they were closed, I parked my truck sideways in front of the service bay entrances. They couldn't get anything in because i gave the keys to the GM and he came to work late the next day. Hahahahaha!

HAHAHA! i being in the auto body repair business, and working for a dealership, I have a lot of sympathy for you, but I love your persistance! these storys of that proportion are a nightmare and don't wish it on anyone, the best part is parking your truck sideways in the service drive, THAT WAS GREAT!. [sm=shootshoot.gif]

hope you enjoy your new truck now[sm=signs003.gif]

Thanks!

Blocking up the service drive was actually not even intended, but it was definitely a bonus. I just pulled in so fast and ddn't really care where it was, but the next morning it was pretty obvious. Hehehehehe!

It was pretty funny watching an entire department at a stand still. The service manager asked me for the keys so they could get it on the lift (he thought I still had them) and I told him with a rather "stern", "It'll get moved when I see the GM and the owner and tell him what a screw up YOU are!" It had a few more vulgarities mixed in, but for the sake of good taste, I'll leave those out.

He didn't know that I just didn't have the keys with me.

HA HA HA

that has to be a priceless moment.

good job on getting the new 5.9, tranny, and everything else. generaly this process take a long time since most of it has to be done through STAR. guess the GM just wanted to get you out of there real bad

What a nightmare and glad you got it resolved with such finesse. You should give training classes for unfortunate CTD owners that are having difficulty with their dealers. Actually, you'd probably do better helping helping the powersmoke and duracrack folks.......

I guess the only downside are going to be the hangover and the 500 mile break-in you'll have to go through again.
