Default RE: remote starters??????????

I purchased a code alarm system a few weeks back along with an interface/bypass module. http://www.audiowarehouse.peachhost....Rchdl7-pk2.htm This thing allows you hook a few wires and interfaces with the truck system to save the hassle of wiring things such as the door pins (typically you have to diode isolate each one) and headlights, taillights, keyless entry features if you have them factory installed. It is also a transponder bypass module as well. I have found that only pro's seem to know about these.I have installed a car alarm on an '04 ram a few years ago and have installed a few remote starters in other trucks as well as researched a lot on the future installation on my '06 CTD ram. Any questions shoot me a message.

I got the MOPAR remote start on my 06, and I hate it with a passion. The stupid dealership didn't give me a manual, so I don't know what options it had. What I do know is that it has a range of about 20 feet, and a fixed delay of 45 seconds whether it needs it or not. By the time I get within 20 feet of my truck, I'm already outside walking towards it, and I have no reason to wait 45 seconds before getting inside of it. So, I'll never, ever, ever use it. Complete waste of money.

I have the remote start, turbo timer...and for really cold night I can set my truck to start every hour on the hour if I want, alot of use I will get out of that living in Az. It has a 1/4 mile range and 2 way paging alarm.

Here is the one that was installed on my truck when I purchased it..

I absolutly love it. The range is great and it has most the bells and whistles. The only thing it doesn't is the alarm. The two way communication is great. There is quite a delay in starting and I can set the low temp for when to start automatically.

I have had other Astrostart starters in the past and many friends and relatives have had them, we have all had great luck. Excellent brand IMO.

Just my 2 cents worth. I installed one in my 98 Ram Gasser for the extremely cold winters here in Ely. Used the Bulldog one and was extremely happy with it. Advice to anyone who gets one and installs it yourself: If they offer a T-harness to simplify the install, buy it!!! Cuts the install time in half as well as makes it a bit cleaner in the wiring end of things.

I'm going to get one for my CTD now. But first, tires! Then: Preluber. Finally, Remote starter.

Crap......that did revert to french. It was in english when I first looked....I promise.

It's not as bad as it looks. Its pretty close to having a normal keyfob in your pocket, but for what it does, it's well worth it.

Steve,

This is one place: http://www.pre-luber.com/

I want the one that will also "post lube" to cool down the turbo after engine shutdown.
