Hey guys. I plan to put a remote start on my 05, and in my wiring info it says I can`t use the WTS on this vehicle. Is this true? It states to set a programmable timer for 5, 10, 15, or 20 seconds. Anyone here tapped the light.

i havnt personaly but theree is nothing wong with using a timer, just that even when you dont need to wait to start the truck it is still going to, how long do you normaly have to wait....set the timer for around that, id say the 15 second wait time to be safe...

I dunno, I'd probably go with the longest setting just to be safe. I know in the winter it takes quite a while for the light to go out. Can you really hurt anything by setting it at the longetst setting?

nope, mines set for about 15~30 sec (never timed it), that should be long enough for the "light" to go out. I could be wrong but w/o glow plugs, is it really only priming the fuel system?

The unit I have doesn`t have the timer(I bought it when I had my last truck and never installed it) But I solved my own problem. The WTS input can be negative or positive. When the light is on so is the grid heater, so I take my signal from there. Kevin.
