Curtis, the reason I say go with a 12 valve is they are simple to repair, and just as simple to crank the power up on. for free, you can pump an extra 50 or so horse(I think) just by rotating a screw. then another freebie is grindeing down a fueling plate to advance the fueling in the pump.

94-98.4 is when you will find the 12 valves with the P7100 injector pump ZERO electronics. 98.5-02 is the VP44 that has it's issues and can be quite costly to repair. 03-present uses the HPCR, and while is a blast and I love mine, I would buy a 12 valve in an instant if afforded the chance. Why didnt I, I wanted a virgin truck. my past two trucks have been deflowered by someone else, I wanted a turn too

I got most of my knowledge of compression ignition in the military tearing down 6.2L GM diesels, and even a 350 diesel[:'(]. pulling apart a DD8v92 was fun, but the govenor on it I still have issues with, but I dont worry about it now, Ive moved onto bigger and better things, radiological commodities has always been my expertice, but Ive also been a gear head at heart.

oh, and calling me sir is flattering, but it makes me feel old and I havent hit 30 yet

I see the orange pig tail out the front, did it get cold there? Also it only looks like you had a skiff of snow on the truck!

Hey. I'm Joe.

My specs are:
'05 Quadcab Shortbox 4x4 3500, Big Horn Edition
6-Speed Manual Transmission (no good for racing, but great for towing, unless there are some clutch kit upgrades someone else knows about for it)
Stock rims, BFGoodrich Tires
Stock exhaust (Need some input on an upgrade. Thinking either Banks, or Bully Dog. I don't want something really loud, just something with better airflow)
AFE Stage 2 Intake (Love it, btw, and definitely recommend it)
Bully Dog Power Pup Programmer. (I wish I had bought the Triple Dog)
Oasis Rear differential cover. They look awesome, btw.
XM radio (Yeah, I know. Lame, but I'm running out of mods here. lol)
Diamond-plate running boards, bed rail caps, tailgate protector, toolbox, and mudflaps.
Polished aluminum fuel door

howdy joel. . .if you want a better clutch check out South Bend Clutches, they can even get rid of that horrid DM Fly wheel[:'(] BTW, I have the older NV5600 which is worse for shifting and beat modded mustangs from light to light, doesnt hurt that I'm also putting around 375hp and 750ft-lb to the ground. If I turn my TST up any more my clutch will let go and I'll bark the turbo.

the exhaust on these trucks is already good, however, depending on where you live you can do a kitty ectomy and replace that with an aero turbine, then drop the stock muffler in favor of something else.

just read around and you'll find a wealth of info here. and if you cannot find it, just ask.

DBLR, There was about 4 inches before I scraped it all off, It got down to about 25 in the morning, but most was gone by sundown. I have the heater on a timer for about 4 hrs before I start up. Colorado Springs/Denver got more than I did.
