Dave here.
I've spent most of my time in the 2nd Gen Forum since I just bought a '99 Ram Laramie 5.2L as an everyday truck.
My Cummins truck is an '04.5 Single rear wheel 3500 4-door long bed that I've had about 4 years now. Other than changing a water pump (super easy!) I've had zero problems.
Auto Trans with 3.75 rear.
All stock except cool blue hose set and Smarty Jr. on the 70hp Tow setting. Speedo adjusted to be spot-on with GPS. And I added Nasta stainless side-steps.
It's a hot-rod when I need it to be!

Recently moved from dakotas into a 2500 cummins. My tranny went in the dakota so thought it was a perfect opportunity to upgrade!
Spent 3 months looking for my baby
02 2500 4x4 6 speed Laramie SLT 39k on my cummins replaced under warranty 141k on the truck. Previous owner was the service manager for a dodge dealer(why the engine got replaced before warranty ended lol)
Truck has
South bend dual disk 3600 clutch
Edge juice w/att
AFE intake
Silver bullet 66 turbo(bit laggy since it doesnt have sticks.... yet)
5in straight pipe
20% window tint
anzo projectors with 55watt hid's along with 35watt hid fogs
Fass 150
2.5in leveling kit with brand new 33's
Rhino Liner in the bed and the entire underneath is sprayed with it.
Absolutely no rust anywhere on it
The mods are on the stand still till I pay a little bit more of this truck off!!

I would seriously consider ditching that turbo and going with something much much smaller...like a S300G, or super b single...
throw some 75-100hp injectors with it and it'll be quite a responsive truck.
150hp injectors with a 62/71/14 be another good combo.
a 66 is going to need 7x.014 injectors (250hp+ comp) to get it to actually spool enough to be worth while..and that will make your fuel economy go to hell quick. that size injector hazes at idle and smokes a lot.
your VP44 is going to hold you back quite a bit too being a high output vp44....the term high output is anything but... HOVP44's have smaller fueling plungers so they make higher pressure but flow lower volumes of fuel. So stock vs stock they are 10hp more than the standard output, but when it comes to adding wiretap fueling to the pumps and running bigger injectors, the HOVP44 will actually make 100hp less than the SOVP44. HOVP44's have trouble breaking into the 500hp range without using 250hp injectors, where a SOVP44 can do it with 150hp injectors...
just food for thought... if your vp44 ever dies, I highly recommend replacing it with a standard output VP44, which is capable of supporting up to 650hp on fuel only. if you want higher than that, go with dragonfire or monster II vp44 for fueling up to 980hp on fuel only, or convert to P7100.

ouch a 66 on stock injectors? on an HOVP44 too...yikes! that's gotta lag like a pig if it ever spools at all?!
