Default New to Forum....Price Question

I recently sold a 2002 Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L for a jeep grand cherokee. 4 months later, I again remembered why I bought the truck in the first place and now need to buy another truck. I am interested in knowing what people are paying for these trucks. There is such a HUGE mark-up on them from invoice to MSRP and i am wondering how close poeple are getting to invoice when they buy the trucks.

I am looking for a 2006 Ram 2500 CTD SLT Quad Cab. What are people paying for these? I am located in CT. Any help would be great. Thank you very much.

I bought mine from my father for blue book a few years ago. I WILL tell you this .... when I bought my truck from Pop, it onky had 63K on it and according to blue book was only worth 14K. I'm pretty sure he paid close to 40K for it only 5 or 6 years earlier. Ask anyone here .... a diesel truck isn't even broken in at 63K.

My advice to you if cash is tight is to look around a bit for a used truck. They're sometimes hard to find because not too many guy's looking to get rid of them, but they are out there.

Good luck !!

The main reason I am leaning towards a new CTD is due to the fact that dodge is running a special promotion right now. 0% APR for 60 months or 2.9% APR for 72 months. Hard to pass that up.

I have done some more research into the MSRP vs. Invoice pricing and noticed that the average invoice for a SLT is around $37,500 and the MSRP is around $42,460. For all of you who purchased the trucks new, how close were you to getting the truck at invoice? Thanks in advance.

Got my '06 at end of July. It was $43 on sticker with options and ~ $33 after EPP. Course, I got eaten up in sales taxes and fees after that[sm=noooo.gif] .........but the ~10k off was nice.

I ordered mine in November last year, took delivery in December, paid Dealer Invoice for it minus about $2500 in rebates at that time. Sticker was $47k, I was out the door for about $38,500. People got better deals later on with the EPP thing I believe. But, you can always talk them down to Stealer Invoice and then get the financing too - sweet deal there!

I hear ya, but your still looking at a payment at around $666.00 fo a 40K truck. Get a truck for around 20K even with interrest and it'll probably be about 200+ bucks less a month.

I dunno ... I just know that I couldn't swing a 600 dollar a month car payment ...

Mine was $42230 MSRP, with EPP and rebate in July was $34K and change. Right before EPP the best I could do was $4000 of MSRP on similar truck. Get all the facts you can and dig in, fight hard, you'll get a deal.

There was a guy who found some '05 leftovers in Texas somewhere you might investigate that too.

Just bought mine on monday. Sticker was $43,915 2006 SLT CTD 4x4. Out the door with taxes and tags I paid $39,000 with the 0% financing. Or I could have taken $8000 off of sticker by financing at a percentage. It was cheaper with the 0%.
