Dude ... don't worry about it at all !! I don't notice a drone sound at all. In fact, most of the time I don't even drive with my raido on just so that I can listen to my Ram !!

Your gonna LOVE it !!

Someday, Steve will too !! [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
Mayfair, was it an easy install? Hmmm, I bet I could have mine done by Thursday....[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

First off, I wanted to get you the pics that you asked for, so here they are. The install wasn't difficult at all ... I had it done at a muffler shop.

Seriously though, I could have done it myself, but since I was down the shore and it was POURING rain with nothing to do I decided to spend the day at the muffler shop instead of just sitting in my hotel room. They charged me 100.00 for the install which might be a bit high, but they DID have to use some pipe since I also decided to cut out my old resonator. Since they welded it in, I didn't need the muffler clamps so that saved me about 25 bucks.

MAKE SURE it's installed correctly whatever route you go !! The guy's at the shop originally installed it backwards and had to turn it around after I noticed it. That's why you see the short pieces going in and out of the pipe ( since they welded it, they had to cut it out, cut short pipes, and re-weld it) The rings on the muffler go towards the back !!!

You asked about the resonator as well. I got the XL version wich means that it has a resonator built in, so that is all that you'll ned as well. I have a straight pipe comming right out of my turbo going into my Aero and then out through the tail. No other pieces. Sounds AWESOME !!! Just ask Steve ... he'll tell ya

oh wait ..... nevermind ...

Yeah, I know I got hosed. I guess because I was down the shore they figured they had me. I returned the clamps though, so that saved me 25 bucks. I guess you could say that I spent 75 then. Either way, I love the way it sounds and runs now.

I have heard that when you open up the exhaust you will lose some torque but gain HP. Has anyone tested their truck before and after on an dyno to see any actual numbers?

As soon as i get the christmas bonus it goes down on a 07 mega cab with the 5.9L

welcome to df...

yes you will loose low end torque, and I gained alot on the top end. question you have to ask yourself is what do you want out of your truck? I have the 30" magnaflow on mine and egt's are low, it spools really quick... my goal is to find the balance between the two ends of the performance chart so i'm happy with performance and mileage. the aero is up next and hopefully will be installed in a day or two.
