I'm about to buy an 06 2500 CTD but I keep reading rumors on other sites about issues with the motor "clogging up" if the truck isnt used to tow heavy loads. I plan to tow but not all that often. Let me know what you think.
Thanks

I wouldn't let some Ford guy scare me away from my Ram or the Cummins motor.

the injectors will tend to develop carbon deposits over time. the best way to reduce/eliminate them is to use what we call the Drews Brew... (read the FAQ on it at the top of the forum). Another thing that helps is to beat on it some periodiclly... I do both... often.... and love it!

Mayfair,
I would think it was a Chevy person who told him this BS. I have seen how much the Chevy forum people bad mouth both Dodge and Cummins as if both names are foul mouth words.
Sabeorcer,
Did you hear it over at DTR? from the local chevy troll? Any way, there has not been any problems with the Cummins 5.9 engine clogging up that I have heard about. Now maybe someone had an old muffler that clogged up but not the engine. What a bunch of BS[:@]

Sabeorcer - I don't tow but once in a great while, and I've never "clogged up". But I do know from experience that gas or two-stroke motors can get a little "clogged up" if you don't "blow" them out now and then - all I would say is that if you don't push it a little now and then the mile per gallon isn't the optimal - but run it hard one day (maybe race another CTD at a stoplight) and it will love it and treat you right.
