Default 06 3500 Transmission problems

I have a brand new 3500 with the auto tranny, 7000 miles on it. the shift from 1st to 2nd seems off all of a sudden. Sometimes I have to let of the gas to get it to shift. Sometimes it wont shift at all untill redline ( when im not in the gas at all). Is there any adjustment that can be made, or is this a common problem?

woah now. . .the 48RE isnt the same tranny that is in your dakota. . .it has to live behind a motor that makes full torque at only 1600rpm, I doubt your 42RH could do that.

the 48RE is quite refined when it comes to overall operation and many have very few problems with it. but it does sound like you have a solenoid problem that the dealer could easily fix.
