Default Oouch

This is the diesel Oouch picture post. Diesel related only! I'll start the show with this pic of a valve I pulled out of an 8v92 the other day. The rest of which went through the turbo and into the muffler.

Not my truck, it's a customers. An old '78 KW dumptruck. Has a detriot 2-stroke in it that looks like I get to inframe. The turbo is toast, also liners are scored to hell. He was lucky it didn't run away on him.

Hey Jakebrake....and that's a cool name by the way.......

I want, so bad, to build a Ram for pulling, and put a 6V71 in it. I love the old stuff. All out fire rigs had the Allison, HD-740 transmission with lockup converter.

I'd want compound turbos, pushing into the roots blower.

Jakebrake, you know what I'm talkin about when you hear a Detroit V, under heavy load......... I get GOOSEBUMPS.....lol.

I'm mentally, incomplete. I think.

I want to win the lottery.........NOW!

Also Jake, ...... do you see any of those detroits with that pre combustion chamber setup? Was that added between the head and crankcase or it was part of the head?

Just curious if you have ever seen one.

Adios.

guys in the shop nicknamed me. Have to check my shirt sometimes to remember my name.
Not sure if I would go with a 6v71 or a 3208 cat. Only problem with a 3208 is you'll never get more than about 400 horse out of it. But you'll get all the torque you'll ever want. Allison has a new trans out i think it is the "World" series trans. That thing is freakin huge, haven't seen any problems with it yet.

Heres a valve I found doing an overhead, needless to say the head had to come off.

Haven't seen any detroits, but I have seen a few cats, the chamber is in the head on the cats I have seen.
Here are the pics promised. This is what happens when the engine starts ticking and you think you can make one last run. first one is rightside secound is leftside.
