Default Gauge Pods A-pilar

Ok its been a while but here goes. I've had cobalt pyro and trans temp gauges sitting around collecting dust oh yeah and a twin gauge pod for the a-pilar. I thought as the picture showed that the a-pilar would be a wrap-around type and I would be able to maintain the handle (wife can't get into the truck without it. Now I know the soloution is to not let the wife drive the truck but, two problems with that are, number one she strongly dissagrees with that and we all know what that means, and two I'm currently driving about 70 miles to work one way. So the Jetta TDI has been mine for a while...At least it's a diesel! Any way my question is has anyone found any way to mount at least two gauges to the a-pilar with out loosing the handle. I'm considering making my own mounts but don't exactly have the time. Where is everone else mounting their gauges. Should I just forget about the a-pilar al togather for a better location.

I have mine mounted in the dash below the heater control... while its nice with it being out of the way, I think the boost guage needs to be on the pillar so i'm going to do the srt pod mod. not sure when but its on the list.

I put my boost gauge in the SRT mount, and I plan to add my other gauges in the cubby under climate controls. Kevin.

Steve they look really good there. What did you have to eliminate in order to put them there. They actually look like they belong there.

I agree steve, looks real good there. Is that mount custom or did you find that somewhere?
Thought about something similar myself, but can't seem to locate a mount for it.

You guy's and all of your gauges have once again got me thinking. If I was to mount some cool gauges in my truck, I was thinking about mounting them alongside of the shifter console thingy on the floor. Do you think that would work OK as far as hooking the gauges up goes? I'm thinking that I could just run the wires, connections, whatever out of the same hole as the shifer itself. Two questions though ...

How tall are these gauges?

What gauges would you reccomend ?

I was thinking that maybe this would work out OK alongside of the console thing.

I would mount it where the bat is tied up.
