24 valve cummins vs 12 valve cummins
what year did they stop putting the 24 valve cummins in the dodges? what would be a better, more reliable, and more powerful engine a 24 valve or the 12 valve?
12v to 24v was midway through 1998, 24v isb to 24v common rail was in 2003. You can build massive amounts of torque from the old 12v. Their injection pumps are a little more robust. How ever fuel mileage is lower with the 12v. The 24v's are electronic, so if you want more power, all you need is a chip. As for which is better, I have no opinion. I like the old 12v's because of no electronics. I like the new 24v's because of fuel mileage and the transmissions offered behind them.
They are still 24 valves. just use a common rail to feed the injectors
