Well, it sucks azz to be back from the 85 degree weather big time. It was BEAUTIFUL down there !! For those of you who forgot, I was in Orlando at the Orlando Speedway for the Nationals. TONS of cars showed up and it was good times for sure. Unfortunately due to a crappy fuel pump that kept acting up, we didn't win.

Oh well ....

We used my truck to tow the trailer figuring that it would give us the best mileage but DAMN .... it SUCKED !!!! We ony got about 9mpg !! Does this sound about right? I was towing a 34 foot trailer with the Camaro inside as well as a golf cart, tools, ect. I don't know what the exact weight of the trailer was but I REALLY had to push it hard just to get my Ram to get to 70 mph. I was bummed. Anyone know if this sounds about right ?

I would say you were easily pulling around 12-14,000 with the trailer, so add in your truck that would have been a total weight of around 21-22,000 GCVW. yea, that is a good bit and I can see why you would say you had to push it.

also, remember you wanted a pic of my turbo. . .here it is. the black stuff is on there pernamently and will not rub off, my intake tube is clean as well. I'd say I have about 18,000 on this filter.

Your probably right about the total weight of the trailer. It was also an extra tall edition which didn't help I'm sure. We didn't want to stop in those weigh stations that you pass going down 95 for fear that we were overweight. My friend said that all 3 axle trailers HAD to stop, but I just went right by em. I would have loved to know exactly how much it weighted.

So my mgp and mph don't sound wrong? I hope not.



As far as your turbo goes, it looks just like mine. When I got home I dropped my oil and to do so I have to take my intake tube off to get to the filter. Once I had it of I took a white napkin and rubbed it on the fins. I really had to rub to get some black on it, so I'm sure I'm fine. No oil on it thats for sure.

Speaking of oil changes ...

My new drain plug wouldn't fit. It was WAY too big for the hole. I'm a little worried now that the dealer used the wrong pan when they had to change it. I looked up my plug size in the Geno's book and it say's it's supposed to be an 22mm, but it's looking like it's probably an 18 like the pre 98's and after 98's. Do you think they screwed me?

 

sounds like the wrong pan to me. . .but it could just be a mid year change over thing where they were useing up the older pans.

as long as it holds the required amount of oil I dont think there should be an increase in the price of tea from china.

 

Glad you made it back home safe and sound. 85 that would feel real good about right now with our day time temps around 35-37 and lows in the low to mid teens.

You got to remember that the taller the trailer is the more wind it will catch and slow you down. I think you had a good bit of wind drag so your mpg may be lower then you want it to be at and also why you had to mash the go pedal to keep it around 70 mph.

Oh one other thing where are the photos of the hot women that I'm sure were all around at the speedway??

and yea, there is a bit of a difference there.

 

Believe it or not, there really wasn't any "track babes" there this year. I think there was only one group of 4, that's it. There WERE some hot momma's at the track who came with dudes, but I'm not about to start cracking pics of other dudes chicks.
