Default Help Check Engine Light On

So here's the scoop, plugged in the truck last night becuase it dipped down below the freezing. This morning I started it up and then unplugged the truck. The check engine was on when i got back into the truck. tonight i unplugged the quad box and disconnected the battery for 5 minutes then tried again. Still got the check engine light on even with the quad box unplugged. all is running fine with the rig but i need to get this fixed before friday since i'm taking off on a long weekend and will be doing about 2000 miles. any help is greatly appeciated.

Check for codes, look up code here. I'll bet it is the one for battery temp sensor. If so go to auto parts store they can clear codes. There is no fix that I have read about for this issue yet, but it is no biggy. If you do a search you will probably find this discussed a time or two.

I had the same problem with the block heater when I plugged it in. The dealer reflashed the computer and the problem went away. Pull your"box" before you take it in though.

do the key on-off method to get the code out, then go from there. if it is the batt temp sensor then go to the autoparts store and have them clear the code, then when you have time go to the dealer to get it squared away.

Had close to the same thing happen to my truck not too long ago. It was the batt temp. senor. Autozone could not clear the code so I had to take it to the dealer. No problems since. Good luck. REMEMBER to remove any aftermarket items so they dont void your warrenty.
