Default Help on lift pump fuel pressure guage install

Quick question on installing a fuel pressure guage for the lift pump. I've got an electric gauge, sender, banjo bolt, and two washers. I know how to install them, but want to know the start-up or bleed procedure.

Is just turning the key on and off a few times to run the lift pump without starting the engine enough, or is there a better bleed procedure?

I don't know your answer, but if you wouldn't mind taking some pics of the install it probably ( definately ) would help others doing this mod in the future.

Thanks der !!!

I know that works on the CR motor, not sure on yours... if you can find a fuel filter DIY writeup on the gen 2 rams it should tell you. Also, did you check the manual for info on it? (aka merry christmas thread in the 2nd gen forum is found in a thread tacked to the top)

I recall hearing something about having to bleed the air out of the system...

It will be documented and photographed.
I read that a while back... I don't remember... I'll have to look again.

It should be enough just to bump it once or twice. When I did mine, I bumped it once the it fired right off.

Yes, when you install the sending unit, you lose some fuel at the injection pump. Before crancking, bump the starter to make the lift pump run to help prime the system.

You'll have to excuse my stupidity, I've been up too long today. Good catch, at least it didn't go off in my hand[:@]
