I have a B&W hide a ball and it is the best hitch I have ever owned. I would have to say go with the B&W hitch.

After doing some looking and allot of reading, I think I am going with the b&w due to quality the flat bed when stowed. If I have any issues with clearance I will invest in 1 of these extended couplers from popup. Looks like this is perfect for us 6 foot bed guys and will be a hell of allot cheaper than a dent in the back of the can or the trailer!!!

SB1 and SB2 Extended Couplers

6,000 lbs. Gross Tongue Weight.

100% complete.

Everyone who tows a gooseneck needs more clearance between the truck and trailer. You either need more trailer swing for maneuvering, or you need more room at the tailgate for hooking up. PopUp gives you a simple solution to this predicament.
More Trailer Swing, Easier Hook-up

The PopUp Extended Coupler gives you nine inches more clearance between the truck cab and the trailer nose, and between the truck tailgate and the trailer bulkhead. This gives you more trailer swing and more room for hook-up. To make your towing experience better yet, this extended coupler is fitted with a PopUp GN8 self-latching coupler.
This coupler latches when the trailer is lowered onto the ball. It also has a molded hitching guide to make coupling easier. To uncouple, you simply pull a release cable located near the trailer jack handle. The GN8 coupler has a "V-19" rating of 28,000 pounds.

The new PopUp Short Bed Extended Coupler is available in two models. The SB1 fits standard 4" I.D. round trailer coupler tubes, the SB2 (see below) fits 4-1/2" I.D. square trailer coupler tubes.
These units are fabricated using extra heavy wall tubing for maximum strength. They are rated at 24,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 6,000 pounds gross tongue weight.

Short Bed Extended Couplers come with all necessary hardware and coupler release cabling. Installation takes about half an hour.

Happy Customer

I just wanted to tell you that your extended gooseneck coupler saved-the-day and made the Altus Air Force Base Fire Department very happy! The quality of your work was very good and our customer left here with a towable trailer.

I'll spread the news and certainly offer it to other customers in the same predicament.

Thank you again for your terrific response to our dire problem.
