not 100% sure on this but I believe the expansion near the heater grid is partially responsible for the boost in low end torque. Really the whole design could be better... rotate that grid 90 deg and make the inlet side a straight shot instead of the 90 deg bend it has to go thru right now. seems to me that the intake air stream has to take an un-necessary bend to go to the head. straight shot it and it would/should flow better.

Sharx.. your current sig pic always makes me stop and oooh and ahhh at it... definatley better in my opinion!
